My Shoes

I love Shoes! I love My shoes! I would say that I have a plethora of shoes to choose from to wear. I have several places of which I store my shoes. One place is very organized as the picture below displays. This is part of a well organized wall of shoes.

Another place that I store my shoes is not quiet as organized because I lack the room to store ALL of my shoes in an organized manner.

On last Wednesday, I decided to find my most comfortable shoes to wear to school. So.. I quickly found a pair and didn't give it much further thought. As I was sitting in my chair talking to the kids in my class - I had crossed my legs. It was THEN that I noticed that I had about a 1 1/2" tear in my shoe. That was 1st period. So.. 2nd period I had crossed the OTHER leg and THEN noticed that I had the same type of tear in my OTHER shoe.

After walking around during my planning period and having to go to various places - my shoe ended up looking like this!! - I was concentrating on my work - by 5th period I crossed my legs and realized that it had gotten much worse! In fact the black rubber was flopping around and one female student said Mrs. Bond is your shoe ripped. I said yes! She said I noticed it because of that black thing flopping around!!
It seems to be some kind of poetic justice for someone like me who loves shoes to totally be humiliated with a sloppy pair of shoes on my feet!! It's not like I didn't have shoes to choose from. But I vaguely remember seeing these shoes with a rip and thought that I would just get them repaired and promptly put them on my shoe rack! Later of course to wear them to School by accident!!!! Funny I am still having a hard time putting them in the trash. Its like parting from a good friend.
Now to make matters worse for my self esteem - I am getting to the point that I cannot wear heels any longer even for a few hours to church! - Last time I wore my cute boots with heels I thought that I wouldn't make it home the balls of my feet hurt so bad. So.... I went out and bought some cute flat soled shoes. I gave away 3 pairs of my cute heeled boots to Katie Brentlinger who is young and cute and can wear them!
Life Sucks sometimes!

  1. HA HA HA HA I am laughing so hard. Mama that IS poetic justice I guess. Ya know, it's just not worth wearing the shoes that make you miserable. I am sure Katie is tickled pink to get new shoes. HA HA HA I can just imagine you walking the halls of school with a flop sound trailing you. HA HA HA...I am sorry though. I thought you were going to say you had two seperate shoes one each foot. I think that wouldn't have been so bad for the shoe princess. Ah it just shows how human you are. Love you

  3. Oh my heck that is too funny!!!! I just can't believe this happened to the shoe queen!!! I can't believe they deteriorated so quickly during the day. I will forever have that image of the rubber hanging off the shoe. For it may never be seen again!!!

  4. This is sooooo funny! Life can certainly teach you how to laugh... (especially at yourself!) I know how hard it can be to throw away a pair of old or beaten shoes... My mom started a new motto - if you love them, buy 2 pair! :) Here's to hoping you can find a close replacement!

  5. Joseph said nice shoes. He laughed at your story. I still remember my white knotted shoes in 6th grade that deterorated so badly you couldn't tell they were white, you made me get rid of them. Looked horrible but felt great. P.S. I'm not a fan of those shoes, they're not very stylish.

  6. Marie, I was thinking of those shoes. Those things stunk so bad! They were horrid! You wore them at EFY so they lasted longer than they should have :)
